Scope

These terms cover this website and the free readiness checker on it, and nothing else. There is no SAGAS product to buy or subscribe to yet: using this site does not create an account, a subscription, or a customer relationship of any kind. When a paid product exists, it will carry its own terms.

The readiness checker is not legal advice

The free readiness checker asks 12 questions about your battery products and returns a gap report against Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 (the Battery Regulation) and its Annex XIII. That report is general information based on the answers you gave, not legal advice, not a compliance certification, and not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. You remain responsible for your own compliance determination.

No warranty

The site and the checker are provided as they are. We do not warrant that the report is complete, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we do not warrant any particular regulatory outcome, such as that following the report will result in compliance with the Battery Regulation, or that any product, filing, or process of yours will be accepted by a national authority or the EU registry.

Regulatory requirements and their interpretation change; we check citations against the official EUR-Lex text and date each check, but you should verify anything the report tells you against the current regulation or with counsel before relying on it.

Acceptable use

Use the site and the checker for your own genuine enquiry. Do not attempt to disrupt the site, extract data at scale, or submit answers on someone else's behalf without their knowledge.

Liability

Our liability, however it arises, is unlimited for intentional acts, for gross negligence, and for any injury to life, body, or health, and wherever a statute makes it mandatory, such as the Product Liability Act.

For ordinary negligence, we are liable only for breach of an obligation essential to this arrangement, and even then only for damage that was foreseeable and typical for a free tool of this kind.

Changes to these terms

Version of 15 August 2026, replacing the interim notice of 14 August 2026. If these terms change, we will name the new version and its effective date here; continuing to use the checker after that date means the new version applies to you.
